Physiotherapy helps restore movement and function when someone is affected by injury, illness or disability.

Physiotherapists help people affected by injury, illness or disability through movement and exercise, manual therapy, education and advice.

They maintain health for people of all ages, helping people to manage pain and prevent disease.

The profession helps to encourage development and facilitate recovery, enabling people to stay in work while helping them to remain independent for as long as possible.

Physiotherapists are professionals with a University degree. In NZ we have to adhere to a strict code of conduct and ethics and maintain our professional development in order to remain registered with the NZ Board of Physiotherapy.

It depends on your injury, illness, mobility or pain issue – but we are able to assess you and on initial assessment decide whether we are able help you or not. If we feel that we are practicing out of our scope of practice, we will refer you to the appropriate person who will be able to assist you with your recovery.

At Port Hills Physio+Pilates, we aim to treat each person as a person and an individual. Taking into consideration all the aspects that could be affecting your recovery and helping you manage these and get back to what you enjoy doing again. Our hope is that you feel heard and understood, and leave feeling better than when you walked through the door.

Simply call 03 366 4710 and our friendly staff will assist you in finding a convenient appointment time. Alternatively, please use the contact form on the website to enquire about appointments and our staff will call you shortly to confirm.

Alternatively, we do have an ‘Online Booking” feature. Go back to the HOME page and find the yellow button that says “BOOK AN APPOINTMENT”.

Please arrive 5 minutes early to complete the appropriate registration and /or ACC form. If your claim is already registered with ACC, please bring the documentation with you and any XRAYS or MRI results that you may have. All prior information is most useful.

Your Physiotherapist will perform an evaluation to assess your injury/impairments. This includes a thorough history of your condition, a review of your symptoms and various physical tests to gain an understanding of your condition.

With this information, your Physiotherapist will form a clinical diagnosis which will be explained to you in a straightforward manner. Your Physiotherapist will design a goal orientated treatment program for you. At each stage, there will be opportunities to ask your Physiotherapist questions.

Please wear appropriate clothing and bring any footwear with you if you have a sporting injury.

You may bring a support person with you. We welcome this. All children under 16 years of age need to be accompanied by an adult.
